Liposomal Glutathione

The Power Of Glutathione For Athletes and Non-Athletes

Liposomal Glutathione is not widely known among the distance running population.
I intend to change that here on RDA.

This is the most important nutrient we need to prevent aging, heart disease and cancer among many others.

Glutathione fights inflammation and preserves cell health. It also works to improve cognitive function, improve circulation, increase energy, and improve heart and lung function. – Dr. Lorna R. Vanderhaeghe

Our bodies produce it but our environment, diet, toxins, pollution and aging all deplete it from us.

How Does Glutathione Work?

Glutathione contains a sulfuric chemical compound which acts similar to fly paper.
The sulfur is a sticky molecule and toxins like mercury and free radicals stick to it.
Glutathione is recycled in the body normally but when the toxic load becomes too great there is stagnation that occurs and we run low on it.

How Do We Boost Glutathione Levels In the Body?
  • Eat foods that are high in glutathione – garlic and vegetables such as cauliflower and cabbage are great foods to help elevate your liposomal glutathione levels.

  • Running or any form of exercise helps boost the level of glutathione in the body. One of the best ways to enhance your levels is to research glutathione on PubMed or simply google it and find out more information. You’ll be ahead of the competition if you do.

  • Take glutathione supporting supplements

Exercising causes a lot of oxidation and routinely damage our biological batteries without us knowing about it.

It isn’t like we are thinking about what is going on with our bodies on a cellular level constantly.

Production of higher levels of glutathion will help us on a cellular level to ensure our body’s oxygen delivery is at its peak.

There is major break down of our cells and production of free radicals with the way we train.

Imagine the amount of physiological stress we place on our bodies during and after a 20-mile run or a 6x1mile track workout.
These are things we as endurance athletes are not pay enough attention to.

We want the results and are making the commitment on a physical level but are we focusing on all other areas to set ourselves up for success?

I think not.

Damaged mitochondria (powerhouses of the cell) will compromise energy production.

Energy production is vital to our success as distance runners as is ATP production.

I have researched the evidence and listened to the experts on glutathione and riboceine.
I’ve come to the conclusion that these are areas of my nutrition and training regiment that have been missing and want to share this with you.

We have done a great job as athletes training ourselves but we still have to do a better job at training the mind and our bodies on a cellular level to ensure we are recovering and maximizing out potential to the fullest extent.

What Is Max International’s MaxGXL Glutathione Accelerator Supplement?

The level of stress and toxins we have to deal with as middle to long distance endurance athletes is high.
This goes back to what I have stated numerous times here on RDA and that is what are you doing the other 24 hours of the day to enhance your training?

It isn’t just about hitting specific times in your track workouts or maintain a set pace for that road tempo.
Are you getting the proper amount of sleep? Max International products can help in that department as well.

Are you paying attention to your diet and are you taking nutritional supplements that can truly make a difference in your training, racing and overall health?

We as runners are not paying enough attention to this.

This is one of the many reasons I am an associate of Max International.

I have competed against athletes in the past 23 years who I had suspected were taking performance enhancing drugs and representing a major company who is against that is of the highest importance to me. The athletes I suspected of it were, indeed, caught and banned.

We have to understand that there is more to than sports. We should always give training and racing our best and live with the satisfaction that we did.

Performance enhancing drugs is a common route for athletes who don’t seem to have an identity outside of sports.
I had a very prominent distance coach once tell me, ‘Nate, what are these guys taking drugs going to do after their running career is over?’

Sadly, this is the truth.

These athletes are living it up, training full-time but the real world, the world you and I belong to is waiting for them.
Personally, I find much more satisfaction in following the route Yuki Kawauchi takes and working a full-time job. You find balance and purpose outside of simply just focusing on your sport.

Athletes who are training full-time, to me, are not as impressive as athletes juggling a job (or two), family responsibilities and still crushing it out on the track and roads everyday.

There really isn’t any comparison. It takes massive action to do both and those who are training full time with no other stressors just isn’t as impressive to me.

Many world-class athletes and novice level endurance athletes are discovering that well-maintained glutathione levels give them the edge over their competition, bringing greater endurance and strength, decreased recovery time from injury, less fatigue and muscle pain, and muscle-promoting activity – Dr. Jimmy Gutman, MD

It never felt good to get outrun by other runners who I knew were not training and racing ethically. Our health, family and friends should be more important than beating our competitors. Some (not all) athletes have that same viewpoint.

Why Is Glutathione So Important?

The most important reason is it recycles antioxidants in the body. Distance runners run into problems when we don’t take care of our bodies on a physiological level. We are not the average citizen who doesn’t participate in daily fitness activity. That isn’t to say that glutathione doesn’t pertain to them because it does.

It helps protect against oxidative stress and free radicals regardless if you are an athlete or not.
That being said, it is vital to us as athletes because we are dealing with constant, residual fatigue from heavy mileage, long runs and races.

If we don’t take this seriously then why put in all the training in the first place?

Why Is This Antioxidant So Important For Us As Runners and Non-Runners?

Every 5 minutes during running approximately 15-20 out of every 350-400 inhaled breaths we take releases 100 percent of free radical components into our cellular tissue.

Our bodies store of antioxidants have to then immediately neutralize them.

The body’s natural defense against free radicals and other cellular toxins come from three main antioxidants.
Super Oxide Dismutase, also called SOD, Catalase and the the most powerful of them all.

It wasn’t until I learned about Max International and started doing my own research on glutathione that I considered associating RDA with this network marketing company that was heavily involved with health and sports nutrition. Dr. Lorna R. Vanderhaeghe who is the author of the book, The Immune System Cure, states No other antioxidant is more important than glutathione.

What Is Science Saying About Glutathione?

Increased glutathione levels help increase endurance and strength. Those interested in physical fitness can benefit from a definite athletic edge. Journal of Applied Physiology 87: 1381-1385, 1999

High muscular activity, such as that of endurance athletes, generates oxyradicals, also called free-radicials which leads to muscle fatigue and poorer performance. Glutathione neutralizes these radicals - Journal of Sports Medicine 21: 213-238, 1996

In conclusion, I hope this overview of glutathione has been helpful and you will consider being a part of my team as a Max International nutrition associate.

It is the only network marketing company that I would consider due to the high emphasis on teaching the public about areas of nutrition and health that they very well have never heard of without our voice.
